Needs-based assistance is provided for normal Music expenses on a discretionary, as-able basis. COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS
Several COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS are offered by the music boosters, including the Matthew Bailey Memorial Scholarship; the Chaz Hunsdorfer Memorial Scholarship; and the Robert McNaughton Memorial Scholarship.
Monetary donations to these scholarships are accepted at concerts and other music events

THE MATTHEW BAILEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
About Matt: Matt Bailey participated in the school district music program from the fourth grade. He was committed and involved in music by joining our Brass Ensemble, Jazz Band and Marching Band. Being your friend meant a lot to Matt. He was sincere, honest and always found the time to help others. The smile he always displayed was true and genuine, a reminder of his positive attitude.
Matt Bailey would have graduated with the class of 1999. He died in a small plane crash on December 21, 1997.
About the Scholarship: The Matt Bailey Scholarship is a college/university scholarship for graduating Perkiomen Valley High School Seniors who are actively involved in the High School Music Department. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist with tuition. The recipients must be quality students with an acceptable GPA and endorsed by a letter of recommendation from an adult not affiliated with the Music Program. The recipients must also share some of Matt’s characteristics, including: A positive outlook, be generous and honest, demonstrate Leadership qualities, be hardworking and respectful and love music.
Funds for The Matt Bailey Scholarship are collected through donations at concerts.

THE CHAZ HUNSDORFER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
About Chaz: Charles "Chaz" Hunsdorfer was a versatile member of our Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Symphony Orchestra, Pit Orchestra and Choir, as well as his church choir. Chaz loved learning to play new instruments and encouraging other students to join the Music Program and to improve their music skills. He was a dynamic, caring, loving person who had a lot to give, and gave it freely.
Chaz Hunsdorfer would have graduated with the class of 2009. He died when he was struck by a car while riding his bike on July 11, 2007.
About the Scholarship: The Chaz Hunsdorfer Scholarship is a college/university scholarship for graduating Perkiomen Valley High School Seniors who are actively involved in the High School Music Department. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist with tuition. The recipients must be quality students with an acceptable GPA and endorsed by a letter of recommendation from an adult not affiliated with the Music Program. The recipients must also share some of Chaz’s characteristics, including: A positive attitude, be polite and respectful of all people, encourage others to improve, and be an active promotor of the Music Program. Recipients also must be proficient in 2 or more instruments (not including voice) and active in 3 or more music groups.
